before midnight in the 3400 block of dot are quoted in landover. the man had been shot and was discovered in the vehicle. he was pronounced dead at a hospital. police are searching for the gunman. police hope evidence left behind will lead them to hit and run driver. a young woman suffered a critical injury after being hit by a car saturday night along the 8700 block of carroll avenue. courtney robinson joins us from silver spring with more. good morning. >> good morning. the woman is in serious condition this morning. officers do have a side view mirror, but they say that this driver should have known that they give someone extremely hard. officers say the driver hit the woman with so much force that it through her 30 feet.

police are looking for the driver who ran her down. this happen saturday night along the 8700 block of carroll ave. courtney robinson is live in silver spring. >> good morning. this is a tragic story as the 24-year-old woman is in a hospital in serious condition. officers have a piece of the vehicle they say it her. it happened on saturday night around 8:00 here on carroll ave. it is unclear whether the woman was in the process of crossing the street or was on the side of the road. witnesses say they saw the car hit her and she flew 30 feet through the air. they say the driver kept going. officers say it would be impossible for the person not to know they had something extra in heart. we can show you that this happened it directly across from a school on carroll ave. many of the neighbors in this

area say the children are all often crossing the street and going to school. people drive quickly through this area and children are not being monitored during the time that school is not in session. if you have information, officers are asking that you call the police. we are following a developing story this morning where police are searching for a gunman after a deadly shooting in prince george's county. it victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound inside a car in landover. they discovered him before midnight and there is no information about a suspect a woman accused of killing a chevy chase social worker was killed at a mental hospital. the 35-year-old was strangled by another patient at the clifton- perkins state hospital in jesssup.

>> it also talked about personality. this shows that his personality is more popular than his policies. what are the other personalities listed here? >> the reason he is hopeful in 2012 and it is so far away it is silly to talk about -- the reason they are hopeful and the white house if you look at today, he is positioned where president clinton was in 1994. by historical standards he is not doing bad. when you met him up by other national figures like sarah palin, he does pretty well. sarah palin had bad numbers and obama would be hurt in a head- to-head matchup. 57% of people surveyed and this includes a fair number of republicans say they would be less likely to vote for sarah palin for president. >> we want to send everybody to
